Jabuticaba, scientifically known as Plinia cauliflora, is a tropical fruit native to Brazil and other parts of South America. The unique feature of this fruit is that it grows directly on the trunk and branches of the tree, giving the appearance of a "grape tree." The small, dark purple to almost black berries have a sweet and tart flavor and are commonly used in jellies, wines, and eaten fresh when fully ripe.
